Case Study: Mass Murder in the Suburbs
Detective Jeff German of Joliet Police Department takes us through a tragic case. A husband, wife, two kids, and two dogs were found shot to death in their residence in what appeared to be a home invasion. The investigation uncovered a complicated love affair and mass murder solved by Detective interviews, video canvass, LPR data, cellular record analysis, connected vehicle data, and Apple iCloud records.

Dallas Police Sergeant Chris Cooley presents drug-related kidnapping case where both physical and digital evidence held the key to solving the crime. Advanced investigative techniques, tower dumps, cell-site data, tracking information, and license plate reader data were meticulously analyzed to pinpoint a suspect. This case study highlights how cutting-edge technology and data-driven strategies can unravel complex criminal networks.

Investigator Josh Pittsley will cover his extensive experience analyzing complex digital datasets, including CDRs, geolocation records, and forensic phone extractions, with a focus on the utilization of NightHawk. He will take us through the investigation of a multi-state burglary ring which led to the closure of 65 cases.
